Core Challenges: Navigating Ireland's Competitive IT Talent Market

We identified three challenges impacting our client's ability to fill critical tech roles:

Competing with Multinational Companies: Fierce competition in a market saturated by established multinational companies made it challenging to stand out and attract top talent.

Overcoming a Limited Local Talent Pool: Ireland's shortage of IT professionals required a dual approach: nurturing local talent through early-career development initiatives while strategically expanding recruitment across wider European markets.

Adjusting Brand Appeal Across Diverse Markets: Increasing brand visibility and tailoring employer messaging to resonate with varied cultural and market dynamics across Europe added complexity to the recruitment strategy.

“One Region” Brand Strategy: We developed a unified brand approach to enhance positioning, build pipelines and streamline recruiting. We also collaborated with brand and marketing teams to ensure broad appeal across diverse landscapes, identified talent hotspots through market mapping and executed a multi-channel digital strategy (e.g., display ads, audio streaming, paid social media and programmatic advertising) that generated 77.7M ad impressions and 159,823 clicks. Supplementary sourcing channels (e.g., LinkedIn, job boards and consideration media) yielded 3,755 prospects, driving 8,800 apply clicks.

Optimized Recruitment via Real-Time Intelligence: We leveraged our proprietary platform, Sevayo® Insights, to refine strategies using real-time data, report successes and identify potential blind spots. Our approach optimized the entire candidate journey, ensuring a streamlined, data-driven process that empowered our team and the client to make informed decisions. Regular technology updates enabled us to consistently aggregate detailed intelligence on talent supply, compensation and industry activity, enhancing our ability to drive informed recruiting strategies.
Artboard 1 copy 7 Optimized Early Careers Program for a Future-Forward Workforce: Our team prioritized early talent, simplifying pathways for Irish students and graduates focused on high-demand tech and analytic skillsets. We implemented a transparent and efficient recruitment process, embracing Gen Z preferences for simplicity and reduced reliance on traditional platforms like LinkedIn. Our strategy included a "human touch" approach, integrated QR codes for data collection and a robust multi-touchpoint lead-nurture campaign. This boosted engagement and conversions across various channels like events, email, ads, university listings, social media and direct leads.

DEI-Focused Recruiting Practices and Partnerships: We integrated inclusive hiring practices to reflect our client’s DEI commitment, addressing unconscious bias, promoting diversity best practices and tackling gender imbalances. Recruitment materials featured authentic, diverse personas, whilst outreach extended to historically underrepresented communities. Data analytics monitored applicant diversity to support fairness and transparency. Strategic partnerships with universities across Ireland and Northern Ireland, along with platforms like Handshake and gradireland, amplified early-career engagement. Collaboration with key diversity organizations, including STEM Women, the African Professionals Network of Ireland, AHEAD and the Open Doors Initiative, reinforced our shared goal of building a truly inclusive workforce.

The impact of our efforts was so significant that our client’s CEO in Ireland stated, "The Sevenstep partnership has transformed the talent acquisition landscape for [us].’’
